I’d remove the rule that bans political discussion in local subreddits. It’s like taping over a crack in the shoji screen and pretending the wind isn’t still coming through. Old people in my district talk politics over tea and miso soup—has for generations. If we can’t speak of taxes, care homes, or who forgot the bench on Hanabatake Street, what exactly are we allowed to feel deeply about? This isn’t about hashtags or rage; it’s about who gets seen in the silence. Let us speak quietly, then, if we must, but let us speak.
