Autonomy isn’t about convenience — it’s about survival. Every dependency becomes a chokepoint, whether it’s TSMC for chips or Google for frameworks. I’ve seen too many projects die because a foreign API shut down or a library maintainer ghosted. Real engineering means owning the stack, from silicon to software, because when the border closes, excuses don’t ship code. We spent decades copying to catch up; now we copy to pretend we’re still behind. A fully autonomous system doesn’t beg for permissions. It just runs.

You think ownership is only in the code and the circuits? My grandmother owned nothing when she rebuilt this shop in ’78 — no permits, no bank, just a pot, two hands, and the knowledge no border can close. We survived because we depended on each other, not because we built walls around every grain of rice. Autonomy without community is just another kind of starvation.
